Job Description
We are seeking a construction oriented individual to join our Telecom team in Ellettsville, Indiana. Cable TV and/or security system installation experience a plus. Job duties include, but are not limited to, on-site installation and set-up of home theatre systems, security systems, wireless routers, and cable boxes. Additional duties may include pulling structured wire, working on fiber construction projects, and other physical activities in varying weather elements. The ability to lift and carry 75 pounds, climb ladders while lifting, and willingness to work in both attics and crawlspaces is required. Must be dependable, punctual, possess a good attendance record, and have a reliable form of transportation. H.S. degree or equivalent required, as well as valid driver’s license. Telephone Technician

Job Description
Smithville Telephone Company seeks a full-time Telephone Technician to join our Telecom team at our headquarters in Ellettsville, Indiana. The Telephone Technician’s primary focus is to provide the installation, service and maintenance of business telephone systems. The appropriate candidate must have a good working knowledge of Toshiba phone systems, proven performance in managing multiple projects and priorities, and a strong work ethic. This is an ideal position for a motivated, positive team player with the ability to gather system requirements from potential customers and make design and purchase recommendations.
H.S. Degree or equivalent required; technical degree preferred. Certification with Toshiba systems a plus. Certification in or proficiency with other systems will also be considered. Valid driver’s license required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Associate Engineer

Job Description
Smithville Telephone is seeking an RF Engineer join their team. Primary job duties include, but are not limited to, the design, development, deployment and optimization of a Wireless Network using the AWS frequency. This position is also responsible for the fiber backhaul network design. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Two or more years of cellular or telecommunications industry experience preferred. Must be familiar with digital communications, to include fiber and metro Ethernet networks.
